A Forgotten History: The Muslim Intellectual Tradition
Over centuries, Muslim civilizations have made significant contributions to the world to science, medicine, mathematics, astronomy, philosophy, literature, architecture, and the arts. However, in the modern world, particularly in Western societies, much of this heritage has been forgotten.
This video is re-edited from "Advancing the Islamic Intellectual Tradition," produced for the Edmonton Council of Muslim Communities in 2006.

Call it whatever you want but this is NOT islam.. to interpret Tawheed as the unity with god is so wrong, Tawheed means the oneness of Allah, believing in Allah Alone as God and Lord and attributing to Him Aِlone all the attributes of Lordship and divinity. Read the Quran, ( وجعلوا له من عباده جزءا إن الإنسان لكفور مبين ) Yet they attribute to some of His servants a share with Him (in his godhead)! truly is man a blasphemous ingrate avowed! (surah alzukhruf, verse 15) Humans are the creation of Allah SWT they can never unite with Allah almighty!

Of all of this, where are the legitimate explanations in hadith and Quran that confirms overall Sufism today? Pls advise. I am one seeking knowledge.
Sufism at the beginning stemmed from the Hadith of Gabriel. Sharia (the revealed law) is the answer of what islam (submission) is; the faith (theological doctrine/creed in "Kalam") is the answer of what iman is; and Sufism is the answer of what ihsan is. The three questions are well-known as the Hadith of Gabriel.
@@PerennialWisdom Please explain how Sufism is Ihsan, when one can argue that Ihsan is conforming to every action becoming of a Muslim that does not necessarily fall under Sufism. The way you explained it, is like Sufism has exclusive rights to Ihsan as if no other Muslim does. Yet, Sufism as a practice, came about after the time of the Prophet SAW did it not? Please provide an explanation, thank you brother/sister.

Being a Sufi is seeing only one in oneself and everything. The word everything does not exist in sufi there is only 'I' i am the truth & the way. I am what i am time and space are just a perception i am that i am. The sense of duality cease to exist i am not in search of anyone or anything i everything i thought exist is actually my mirror or reflection i see my self only i am neither a slave a worshiper or a god i am that which i am , i wish to known so i saw myself in my mirror and said i am the beautiful the marvelous the magnificent i am what i am , i talk to myself i see myself i listen to myself i am the speaker and the hearer. The way of Mohammed Saw is my way i do justice through it to my self i treat myself justly. Mohammed saw is my biggest secret and all those who knew themselves knew it because of the Mohammdan knowledge in essence the reality of everything and every mystic of every religion is me.

Absolutely. All esoteric orders of every religion speak to the ultimate truth of Oneness. They all recognise we are apart of God. With the quote in the beginning in my opinion the lover described in the beginning quote can be compared to the Jiva in buddhism commonly known in present times as the Ego.
In this Rumi whirling dance shows us the great sign of this universe. He had great eye which through he can see this universe is also moving around one Great ( unknown to us ) Source. Sufism is a different religion and very close to Hinduism. It has nothing do with Islam. And we respect Sufis the same way respect a Hindu or Buddhist.
Sufism is the only correct path of religion since Quran 56:79 clearly says: “no one can grasp the truth of Quran except purified people”, or in 16:43 or 21:7 clearly says “ask people of zikr if you do not know”. or many times Quran critizes people why they do not ponder. Pondering and thinking consistently is the bedrock of sufism which is called Solook.
